End of 2011 season with a beautiful podium: Raffaele Giammaria third place in the 6 hours of Rome

Great performance of Raffaele Giammaria and the Racing Team Edil Cris Ferrari 458 GT2. On the Vallelunga circuit, Sunday, November 20, for the "classical" endurance race at the end of the season, 6 hours of Rome, Raffaele drove again with Edil-Cris as team-mate of Luca Rangoni and Alessandro Garofano.

After the qualifyng practice of Saturday where some of the problems of adaptation to Michelin tires, used in place of usual Dunlop, had affected the absolute performance on the single lap relegating the black Ferrari in 5th place, the race of Sunday saw Raffaele gain positions on positions until the second provisional place. Then after a stint of 2 hours Raffaele gave the steering-wheel to Luca Rangoni who maintained the second position at about 25 seconds from the leader of the race.

There was then the stint of Luca Garofano which was disputed a flawless race until it was struck by an overlapped car. Spin and the loss of a position for the Ferrari Edil Cris, but fortunately no serious damage to the car.

Raffaele then led the car until the checkered flag, completing another run from approximately 2 hours, in which he has tried to reduce the gap now accumulated by car in first position, finishing in third position.

Raffaele Giammaria: "Driving in Vallelunga, my home track, the mythical six hours, it is always a pleasure and a unique emotion. For that i would like to tell thank to the Racing Team Edil-Cris that he invited me to take part in the event. We were in second position at about 30 seconds from the leader of the race for mid race. Then there was the inevitable contact between our car and an overlapped car. What a pity! Because we were very competitive despite we hadn’t the "confidential" Michelin tires as well as the winners. But, anyway, the third place is a good way to finish the 2011 season. Now i will give a nice period of rest to get ready for the better in 2012 ".
